Observational photography that celebrates your people and your story

“The photos bring us right back to those moments, and we’re so grateful to have them!”

We’re usually pretty awkward in photos, but she made us feel relaxed and comfortable, which made such a difference. On the day, she blended right in and captured everything in a natural, documentary style. The photos bring us right back to those moments, and we’re so grateful to have them!

Maine documentary-style wedding and family photographer

Hi, I’m Sienna! I’m a Maine-based photographer who finds beauty in the ordinary and the moments that make life real.

I’m drawn to the details that make your world yours, and I believe photography keeps a record of the people and places that matter.

I document portraits to help you look back and remember all the damn cool parts of life — and the ordinary moments that might not feel so ordinary anymore.

“From the beginning, she was so attentive and reassuring - she asked questions about our story, our guests, what our goals were.”

My husband and I were looking for a documentary style photographer to capture our wedding in Maine and were delighted to find Sienna. From the beginning, she was so attentive and reassuring - she asked questions about our story, our guests, what our goals were. During the weekend of our wedding, she was a calming yet fun presence and really put at ease my general dislike of being photographed. We loved our results and can’t recommend Sienna enough.

FAQ

  • Most of my couples and clients feel this way! Because I approach the majority of a wedding day with a documentary eye, there’s no pressure to perform or do anything for the camera.

When it comes to more formal portraits, I encourage you to be in the moment with your person/people. Less about posing, and more about being present in that very moment.

  • Yes, of course! It can feel overwhelming, I know. I’m here to bounce ideas off of from the very beginning. Our very first call will be all about getting to know you as a couple and what is most important to you. I am your advocate to keep what’s most important to you at the forefront, no matter what!

  • Yes! There are those formal portraits that can be SO important, too. While they are a bit less in the moment, I still capture these with a genuine approach.

I encourage you and you loved ones to remember the reason for being in the very spot you’re in rather than for the sole purpose of looking at a camera and smiling.
