Since middle school history class, I had a fascination with photos and how they could bring us back to life decades earlier.

The emotions, the textures, the light all work together to bring about the feeling of understanding history as more than words in a book but humans who lived. I was charmed to say the least!

There’s a quiet magic about physically holding a print of moments in a mixup of colors, light, and personality and getting to feel what life looked like on that day. I have always been drawn to pulling out my family’s photo box and looking at images of my grandparents who I never really got to know, my parents on their wedding day, or images of my brother and I as kids. History of my own family, documented.
