A Maine Summer Wedding at Boothbay Harbor Shipyard

Collin and Kate celebrated their summer wedding at the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard, inviting their friends and family to join them on Maine’s coast on a beautiful July day.

CHOOSING A PLACE THAT IS MEANINGFUL TO YOU FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY IN MAINE

Having met at Maine Maritime and both pursuing careers having to do with the ocean, Collin and Kate chose the Harbor to have their celebration. Collin’s grandfather was a boat builder in their family’s hometown of Boothbay, so the shipyard made it even more special. They both got ready at Collin’s dad’s property minutes away from the shipyard – it was lovely to see the family ties in each part of their day!

A PERFECT LOCATION FOR WATERFRONT WEDDINGS OF ALL GUEST COUNTS IN MAINE

Being right in the harbor, you and your guests get to enjoy watching boats come and go, seagulls fly overhead, and the sun move across the sky. If you enjoy being outside on the water, Boothbay Harbor Shipyard is a perfect place to host a wedding day.

With 10,000 square feet of both building and dock space, including a 300-foot-long-pier, the Shipyard can host any kind of wedding day. Collin and Kate’s guests were fishing, lounging, and going from in the building to outside all night – it was laid-back, beautiful, and spacious!

SURROUNDED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS ON A WEDDING DAY

Collin and Kat each had a beautiful close group of friends who helped bring the party to their day! They invited both their family and close friends to be a part of their celebration, making it feel close-knit even with a 100+ guest count. Getting to witness and document people who have helped support them from different times of life was beautiful!

WEDDING IMAGES ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE AND PLACE WITH A DOCUMENTARY STYLE

During our initial meeting, I asked Collin and Kate what they were excited about when thinking about their wedding. They said they were excited to see photos of their families, having fun with their friends, and getting to enjoy and look back on the emotion in the moment. With a documentary style, I knew going in what was most important to them, so I kept my eye out for those moments that were already happening. Collin and Kate got to enjoy their day as it unfolded without pressures of performing or doing anything specific ‘for the camera’.
