Laid-Back Intimate Wedding on the Maine Coast

Becca and Gabe invited 15 of their closest people to celebrate the beginning of their marriage with an intimate getaway on the coast of Maine. You kidding me!? Even typing that sentence makes my heart melt.

 
 

In her initial email, Becca wrote that her and Gabe didn't have a plan for their day yet, but that they did know they wanted "photographs that capture us, our families, and our day." They envisioned a low-key celebration with a dinner in a beautiful place.

From our first call, it was clear they wanted to create their day based on what they already enjoyed doing together - exploring new places and gathering with their families. A quiet and rooted beauty! I couldn't wait to document.

 
 

Planning an intimate wedding at a rental in Maine

That's right! Feeling pulled to celebrate somewhere for a full weekend? A rental can be a perfect option. Becca and Gabe found a Vrbo big enough for everyone on the water, asked the owners about having a small and laid-back celebration, and they said yes!

Their intention of staying true to who they are and their relationship was at the forefront of the day. They gathered their families to celebrate and explore in a beautiful place - it was exactly the day they talked about creating on that first phone call. That intention, along with the support of their family to bring the day together, brought a gentle and beautiful energy that followed them throughout their day.

 
 

A non-traditional ceremony by the water

The joy of the span of ages and the excitement and support everyone had for Becca and Gabe was palpable. Because they had gotten married at a town hall back home in Maryland, Becca and Gabe were not envisioning a standard ceremony but they did want it to feel intimate and celebratory by the water. So, they invited their families to share stories, words of support, quotes etc. with a toast to send them off. It. was. beautiful.
